The Hawai'i County Democratic Party convention which will be held on Saturday May 6 at the Keauu High School Library. This should be an exciting convention with a very full agenda. We will be electing a new slate of officers to run the Hawaii County Democratic Party for the next two years and only convention delegates are allowed to vote in this election. There will be a panel discussion from Hawaii County Legislators about the results of the present Legislative session in Honolulu which will have just wrapped up. We also hope to hear from our federal delegation in Washington as well as the Governor and Mayor. The State Chair of the Democratic party, Tim Vandeveer, will also address the assembly. There will also be information sessions in the afternoon dealing with climate change, health care, the present state of the sovereignty movement, homeless and elderly issues, how to influence legislative action at the state level, and elimination of the Electoral College. We will also have a delicious lunch of locally sourced food dishes with vegetarian options.

Those individuals registering online who chose the check option, and whose check arrives after the Sunday, April 23 deadline must pay a $5 late fee (a total of $40 for Delegates/Alternates and $20 for Students/Observers) when checking in on Saturday if their check did not arrive.

There will be NO WALK IN registration on the day of the convention. We must tell our caterers how many meals to prepare in advance and we need to know a head count for seating, etc.

To register Delegates and Alternates Delegates you will receive an email from the District Chair with their registration information.  If you do not receive the email, contact your District Chair

MAHALO to everyone who is planning to participate and especially to those party members who have put in many volunteer hours to prepare for this gathering of like-minded friends. We look forward to Saturday being a great day for moving forward our Democratic values and agenda!
